About Me

How I got started in therapy…

I got into therapy because I struggled with my own personal issues in my life. I knew that I wanted to help other people because I had received help when I was going through difficult times. I personally know that finding a therapist that you connect with can make a world of difference in your life.

My Education

I have a master’s degree from Fordham University in Social Work. For the majority of my career in clinical social work, I have been working one on one with individuals in private practice.

What do I do when I’m not doing therapy?

I enjoy going out on the boat or being outdoors on a nice day. I enjoy going for runs and spending time with my family.

Taking the first step

I know it can feel like you’re in a tough spot right now, I've been there as well. But if you’ve read over this, if you’ve resonated with what’s here, then I’d highly recommend you reach out for therapy. Getting your mind back to the right state can be the most important thing you do in your life, as it completely changes your perspective on the world. And I’d be happy to help guide you through it.

So, if you are ready to start working with me then please reach out by email or phone to get started!

It Takes Courage to Reach out.

It can be difficult to reach out and begin taking those steps towards positive change.

What working with Me is Like.

It's a priority to have space where you can just be yourself with no strings attached.

When I work with someone, I want them to feel heard and understood.

I help my clients be fully empowered to face the challenges that life presents.

What does therapy actually look like?

To begin therapy we'll start with an intake session. This is where we take a full in-depth look at your life and understand the psychological, biological, and environmental factors specific to the challenges you're going through. After intake, we have our first session where we focus on what tools are going to be helpful for you and how to develop them.

Each week we set goals that are specific to your treatment plan. These goals focus on making long-lasting changes in your life.

You may have some idea of why these feelings are occurring, but together we’ll look at your life and collaborate to see exactly what brought you to this moment today.

This observational process in and of itself can be exciting as you can start to see the patterns and look at your past in a totally new way. You start to see why you have certain thoughts and behaviors you repeat.

Once we’ve identified these areas that aren’t helping you, then we get to work letting go of them, working through a guided method that lets them pass through.

Does it take work? Absolutely.

Is it worth it? Yes, it can be one of the best investments you ever make in yourself.

What do I use to help you make the transformation happen?

I personally take a Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy. I have also been trained in EMDR which is a therapy designed for the desensitization of traumatic experiences.

Wondering whether now is the right time for therapy?

It’s simple...are you ready to start experiencing life differently?

This is not for a short-term gain but is a significant change for the rest of your life. If you are ready to start living life differently then now is the time.

There is no other way around it, it takes courage to reach out and ask for help. But that can be the first step on your path to transformation.

I’d be honored to guide you on your journey. If you choose to take this path, then here’s what working with me is like.

You may have heard that therapy takes years, just getting to know each other session after session until you can finally get down to what really matters.

What does therapy actually look like?

First, we’ll have our consultation call to determine that we are the right fit to work together. I’ll ask you about why you’ve chosen to reach out at this time, what your challenges are and what your goals are for therapy.

From there we'll have our first session, in which we’ll dive in and understand what’s making you feel stuck. We’ll look at not just what’s happening right, but also possible past events that could be contributing.

What do I use to help you make the transformation happen?

I work using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT)  to help make the transformation a reality.

I use therapies as they have been shown to be scientifically effective at helping people change how they experience life quickly.

And that’s my priority, to help you get on track soon.

Wondering whether now is the right time for therapy?

It’s simple...are you ready to start experiencing life differently?

This isn’t a small change, this is about radically changing the way you go through life.

So if you think that time is now, then I’m ready to help you make it happen.
